Accessibility

Turn2us is committed to making sure that this website is accessible to everyone.

We have developed our website following web standards and accessibility guidelines.

Access keys

Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the website. We have set up the following access keys on our website to make it easier for users to navigate around the site.

ALT + 1 + Enter   Turn2us home page
ALT + 3 + Enter   Site Map
ALT + 5 + Enter   Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
ALT + 7 + Enter   Compliments and Complaints
ALT + S + Enter   Skip to navigation

Users of the Firefox browser should apply the follow key combination to use our access keys - SHIFT + ALT + "key choice".

Text size

The text size is set in a way that makes it resizable in any browser, should you find it too small to read comfortably.

Headings

Headings are used on each page on the website. They make it easier to read pages by providing visual structure and help people using screen readers and other assistive technologies navigate the site.

Links

Whenever possible, links have been written to make sense when accessed out of the original context. This helps visitors who may use a list of links to move around the site.

Content

The content of the site has been written to be readable by as many people as possible. We have tried to use plain language that is jargon-free and easily understandable.

Site accreditation

The Turn2us website has been awarded the Shaw Trust Web Accreditation.

To achieve this award, the Turn2us website underwent a fully comprehensive web accessibility audit involving over 60 hours of rigorous user testing against the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C's) Web Accessibility Content Guidelines (WCAG 1.0, WCAG .2.0) and Section 508.

The Shaw Trust accreditation is the most comprehensive accessibility audit service available and is endorsed by The Guild of Accessible Web Designers (GAWDS).

Any site carrying this mark has been tested by people with a wide range of disabilities and found to be accessible.
