Throughout April, Turn2us is staging Benefits Awareness Month, a campaign encouraging people living on low incomes, and those that support them, to check their benefits entitlement using the Turn2us Benefits Checker and claim what is available to them.

The March Ask an Expert session on upcoming benefits changes proved to be very popular. Our panel received questions on a wide range of aspects, including pregnancy and benefits changes; over 60s and Tax Credits; housing; and the effects of the increased tax allowance on benefits.

Going into hospital can affect an individual's entitlement to benefits and those that their partner or carer receives. Our new information sheet in the Information and Resources section of the Turn2us website has more information.

For intermediaries who wish to learn more about Turn2us tools and resources, spaces are available on our free bi-monthly London workshops. We are also holding regional sessions in Exeter (19 May), Brighton (16 June) and Manchester (June).

The Money Advice Service, a new nationwide service to provide free unbiased advice to help people make the most of their money, launched on 4 April. The aim is to help individuals make the right financial decisions and act on them, by giving personalised online, telephone and face-to-face advice.
