Citizens Advice Scotland are working with Poppyscotland and other armed forces support groups to offer a new service, the Armed Services Advice Project (ASAP), which aims to be the focal point for access to advice, information and support for the Armed Forces community in Scotland.

Turn2us grants searches and benefits checks will be part of the services provided as part of ASAP by Citizens Advice bureaux in Scotland – a highly trusted advisory and information network that has the necessary experience, resources and links to help members of the Armed Forces community in Scotland resolve the problems they encounter – whether they are service-related or not.

ASAP is available to people living in Scotland:

  • Currently serving in the Armed Forces, either regular or reserve, or a dependant of someone who is
  • Have served in the Armed Forces, either regular or reserve, or a dependant of someone who has
  • A member of the Merchant Navy who served in a commercial vessel in support of legally defined UK military operations, or a dependant.

To find out more, please phone the national ASAP helpline on 0845 231 0300 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) or use the Citizens Advice Scotland website (link opens in a new window) to send an email asking for more information about ASAP.
