Senior Welfare Benefits Specialist (12 month fixed-term contract - Maternity Cover)

35 hours per week £36,429 p.a.

Turn2us is looking for a Senior Welfare Benefits Specialist (maternity cover) to play a vital role in keeping the range of Turn2us welfare benefit tools and resources up to date. Please note that this role does not involve advising the public on individual issues.

The successful candidate will need to be/have:

  • Excellent analytical and research skills to interpret policies and  legislation relating to the rules for assessing entitlement to welfare benefits and tax credits
  • Highly IT proficient and able to learn new systems quickly in order to maintain and develop online tools
  • In-depth, up to date, knowledge of every aspect of welfare benefits and tax credits from making claims to appealing decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate with confidence and in easily readable formats to a wide range of individuals and organisations
  • The ability to handle information requests regarding welfare benefits, including contributing to media features and taking part in media interviews.
