The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for adults and apprentices rises today, following recommendations set out by the Low Pay Commission in its 2012 report.
Because of a freeze on the NMW for people aged under 21 years, the rate for:
The Government says it is committed to the NMW because of the protection it provides to low paid workers and the incentives it provides to work. Around one million of Britain’s lowest-paid workers will gain from these changes.
