The Rainy Day Trust is a charity which exists solely to help people who have worked in the UK’s home improvement and home enhancement business – DIY shops, hardware stores, garden centres, cook shops and all the manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers who supply them.

An estimated one million people are eligible for assistance from the Trust, and they have recently reduced their eligibility criteria so that they can reach more people who need their help.  Applicants (or their spouse/widow/widower) should have worked for one/more of the above industries for at least five years – this was previously ten years.
