Transforming Your Care: Northern Ireland consultation on health and social services launched

Information about the Northern Ireland Transforming Your Care consultation (link opens in a new window)Everyone in Northern Ireland is urged to have their say in a public consultation on the future delivery of health and social care services - Transforming Your Care. 

The consultation closes on 15 January 2013.

Transforming Your Care

The health and social care system in Northern Ireland is being reshaped through the Transforming Your Care (TYC) proposals - these aim for more services to be provided in the community, closer to people’s homes where possible.

The key proposals include reshaping:

  • Primary care (GP surgeries and health centres)
  • Use of new technology
  • Statutory residential homes
  • Mental health services
  • Acute services
  • Maternity care
  • Palliative care.

An information leaflet will also be sent to every household to advise on how to get involved in the consultation process and there will be a series of public meetings to discuss the proposals.
