Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland Grant

Thanks to funding from the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland, Turn2us is developing a specific training programme for intermediaries working in some of the more rural and isolated areas of Northern Ireland.

From the feedback we have received from our regional workshops, we know how important it is to provide advisers with information on resources that can support their clients in financial need.  This is particularly true in Northern Ireland where many individuals, already cut off by geographical distance and limited resources, are struggling to make ends meet in this difficult economic climate.

This project aims to alleviate this situation by providing intermediaries with tools they can use to help their communities to reduce rural poverty and isolation.

The funding will be used to produce up to 13 interactive training workshops across the country in 2011-2012.

Finbarr Fitzpatrick, National Officer for Ireland said: “This award from the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland will enable us reach the more remote, harder-to-reach parts of Northern Ireland. By training intermediaries working in these communities, we will be able to help many more vulnerable, isolated people in financial need access the support available to them through Turn2us.”
