Regional workshops

Turn2us has a programme of intermediary workshops, held in London and many regional centres. These aim to help intermediaries increase their knowledge of welfare benefits and charitable grants, and the ways in which Turn2us can help them to support individuals in financial need.

The workshops are for front-line practitioners (‘intermediaries’) who currently support or would like to support people in financial need by finding benefits, grants and other financial information in an efficient and effective way.

The purpose of the workshops is to enable participants to:

  • Gain a clear understanding of how the Turn2us website tools and services and helpline can help them support individuals in financial need
  • Understand how to carry out checks to assess individuals’ eligibility for welfare benefits and tax credits, using the Turn2us benefits checker
  • Develop knowledge of grant–giving charities, and how to search for and apply for funds on behalf of individuals in financial need
  • Understand where to find further information about ways that individuals in financial need can use to manage their money and maximise their income
  • Understand how to use a MyTurn2us account to manage multiple grant applications and enquiries
  • Understand what resources are available to promote the Turn2us services locally
  • Understand how to be informed of future Turn2us developments
  • Give feedback about the Turn2us services.
