Workshops for intermediaries


Turn2us runs free training workshops across the UK to help front-line workers and volunteers (‘intermediaries’) use Turn2us’ tools and services to support people in financial need.

Two types of workshops are available:

Free Turn2us regional Maximising Income Workshops

Aim of regional 'Maximising Income' workshops

This workshop enables participants to understand how the Turn2us website tools, information and helpline can help them to support their clients in financial need by checking benefits entitlement and searching for grants and other forms of support - based on each client's background, circumstances and needs.

Is there a cost?

Charities: The workshops are free and we offer an unlimited number of places for staff and volunteers from charities whose work involves supporting people in financial need

Public organisations: The workshops are free and we offer two places for staff from public organisations such as local authorities or housing associations.

Commercial organisations: Contact us for further information.

Turn2us in-house intermediary workshops

Aim of Turn2us in-house intermediary workshops

Turn2us offer free - in-house workshops to advice-giving organisations which cover all of the Turn2us free and accessible services.

These half-day workshops enable participants to understand how the Turn2us website tools, information and helpline can help to support individuals in financial need access benefits, grants and other forms of support.

The workshops enable advice teams to become confident with using the Turn2us Benefits Calculator and Turn2us Grants Search regularly as part of their support service. Through interactive case study examples and other activities, participants can really get to grips with using the tools with service users to help maximise their income.  

With over 3,000 charitable funds to help individuals on the Turn2us Grants Search, giving £366 million each year to help those in need, intermediaries are vital in supporting access to these funds. We encourage advisers to create a 'MyTurn2us' account to manage applications and checks on both the Benefits Calculator and the Grants Search.   

Who are the Turn2us workshops for?

The workshops are for staff and volunteers from voluntary and community organisations, local authorities and housing associations offering front line advice, support or information to people in financial need, who are familiar with using the internet. The programme is designed for intermediaries who are not benefit experts but want to know where to find the latest information and updates on welfare benefits and grants.

Is there a cost?

The workshops are free to charities and public organisations, provided you can meet the requirements listed below.

Requirements for a Turn2us in-house intermediary workshop

We can provide a half-day workshop for between twelve to twenty staff or volunteers. As the workshops are interactive in using the Turn2us online tools, an IT suite with good internet access is required.
