Family Fund

For charities like Family Fund, Turn2us provides another avenue of contact with potential beneficiaries. “Families use the internet to look for support”, Susan Wood, a Family Fund policy officer explains, “so it was obvious to us that we wanted to be represented there. The Turn2us database is a good way of reaching those people who are looking for assistance”.

Family Fund makes approximately 50,000 financial awards a year, providing grants to low income families with disabled children.  Since joining Turn2us they have received over 30 enquiries through this means of contact.

Family Fund receives grant enquiries directly through Turn2us and Susan Wood complimented the service for making accurate referrals.  “The advantage of Turn2us is that it is quick and easy”, she says “and it enables us to reach people who might never have known about us before”.

Susan would recommend other organisations to sign up to the database as she sees it as a win-win situation. “The more charities on the database, the better the service is for everyone”.

Family Fund also often refer applicants they are unable to assist to Turn2us and appreciate being able to provide them with another contact, which is appropriate to so many different circumstances.

“Turn2us is an inspired and timely idea, bringing the right people together at the right time”, Susan says. The Family Fund are looking to deepen their connections with Turn2us, making their application form available to download from the site in the hope of streamlining their procedures even further.
