Alison Taylor Director
Alison Taylor joined Turn2us in April 2008 from the Governance Hub, where she led a national programme developing support services for trustees. With a background in social policy, she began her career as an adviser with Citizens Advice. Alison has over 20 years experience of setting up new services, delivering service improvements and organisational change in local government, the health service and the third sector.
At Turn2us, as Head of Services she led the development and delivery of a range of services, including the website, helpline and support services for intermediaries.
In September 2009, following the merger of Elizabeth Finn Care and Turn2us, Alison was appointed Director of Turn2us and is leading on the further development of the service.
Emma Aldridge Projects Manager
Emma joined Turn2us in May 2009 from The Big Issue, where she devised and implemented a programme of support services for Big Issue vendors to improve financial skills, knowledge and confidence. Previously, at Age Concern England, Emma helped shape and lead a number of new initiatives, including services to increase older people's access and use of digital technologies. Emma has written a popular book for older internet learners, How to be a Silver Surfer, which is now in its fourth edition.
At Turn2us, Emma is working with the Director of Turn2us to develop and manage a range of projects to support the delivery of Turn2us services.
Flavia Gapper Helpline Development Manager
Flavia joined Turn2us in April 2010. Previously she was Partnerships and Centre Manager at Crucible, a centre for human rights, social justice and citizenship education at Roehampton University. From 2001 until 2005 she was Information Manager at Age Concern England (now AgeUK), co-ordinating information and advice services.
As Helpline Development Manager, Flavia is working with partners, charities and the contact centre to ensure we meet the needs of all people using the Helpline service.
Chris Martin New Media Manager
Chris Martin joined Turn2us in 2009 from Help the Aged where he project-managed a variety of website builds and ran the Charity’s web editorial team. Chris has previously worked at Christian Aid where his work on the Lifeswitch website won the prestigious Gold Cyberlion in Cannes. He has also worked for several new media agencies and was Managing Editor of online bookshop The Book Pl@ce.
At Turn2us, Chris is responsible for the Turn2us web team, the development of the website and all associated digital media.
Bridget McCall Customer Support and Information Officer
Bridget McCall worked for the Parkinson’s Disease Society for many years, providing a wide variety of information services to people with Parkinson’s, their families and the many health/social care professionals involved in their care. She subsequently worked as a freelance writer and is the author of two health books, Living with Parkinson's Disease and The Complete Carer's Guide.
Bridget has worked at Turn2us since July 2008. She is responsible for writing, editing and commissioning website content and is involved in supporting the national Helpline.
