Professional Footballers’ Association Accident Insurance Fund

Members or former members of the association in England and Wales who require medical treatment as a result of a specific injury or illness which results in their permanent total disability to play professional football.

Members or former members of the association in England and Wales who require medical treatment as a result of a specific injury or illness which results in their permanent total disability to play professional football.

Exclusions

Type of grants

Grants are to provide private medical treatment for all members and for members unable to claim under the terms of the PFA accident insurance policy due to the nature/circumstances of the injury. Grants are also given to meet operation costs which may not be covered by the insurance and free places are available at Lilleshall Rehabilitation Centre. Grants are also available to former members for treatment on injuries received as a result of their playing career.

Applications

On a form available from the correspondent. Completed applications should be returned directly by the individual or by a family member/social worker on their behalf. There are no deadlines and applications are considered as they are received.

Other information

Contributions are made to FAPL and FH Club to ensure all PFA members are covered by private medical insurance.
