Grants: Applicants must be aged 16 to 25; must have lived in the Borough of Northampton for at least three years; and must be in education.

Loans: Applicants must be aged 21 to 34 and have lived in the Borough of Northampton for at least 3 years.  Loans are given out once a year, and can be applied for in January/February.

Type of grants

(i) Nine-year interest-free loans to people aged between 21 and 34 for education and new businesses (and home improvements). (ii) Grants to young people aged between 16 and 25 attending school, college or university.

The fund was originally set up for the provision of tools for people setting up in a trade or profession.
