Sir Thomas White’s Northampton Charity

Educational grants for people aged 16 to 24 who are in education and 10 year loans for education and business start-up for people aged 21 to 34 years.

Applicants must have lived in the Borough of Northampton for at least five years.

Eligibility

Grants: Applicants must be aged 16 to 24; must have lived in the Borough of Northampton for at least five years; and must be in education.

Loans: Applicants must be aged 21 to 34 and have lived in the Borough of Northampton for at least five years. Loans are given out once a year, and can be applied for in January/February.

Type of grants

Educational grants for people aged 16 to 24 and 10 year loans for education and business start-up for people aged 21 to 34 years.

Applicants must have lived in the Borough of Northampton for at least five years.

Applications

On a form that can be obtained by writing to the charity at the address given in 'Contact details'.

Grants: The Trustees meet four times a year.

Loans: Apply January/February following public notice.

People who live within the extended borough of Northampton.

Loans: Applicants must be aged 21 to 34 and have lived in the Borough of Northampton for at least 3 years. Loans are given out once a year, and can be applied for in January/February.

Loans: Applicants must be aged 21 to 34 and have lived in the Borough of Northampton for at least 3 years. Loans are given out once a year, and can be applied for in January/February.

Exclusions

 

Type of grants

(i) Nine-year interest-free loans to people aged between 21 and 34 for education and new businesses (and home improvements). (ii) Grants to young people aged between 16 and 25 attending school, college or university.

The fund was originally set up for the provision of tools for people setting up in a trade or profession.

Applications

Apply in writing for a form in November, following a public notice advertising the grants.
