Grants are given to people who have arthritis or rheumatism, or elderly or isolated Scottish or French people who live in the UK.
You should contact the Charities Aid Foundation through a social worker or a welfare charity. Applications are considered in February, May, September and November.
Danish people who live in the UK can apply to the Society for financial assistance. Older people and families in need will be given particular consideration.

German nationals and their dependants can apply for financial help from the German Society of Benevolence. Applicants must live in Greater London, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent or Surrey.
Applications can be made in writing by the individual or though agencies acting on the individual's behalf.
German nationals or their dependants who live in the UK can apply for financial help from the German Welfare Council in a crisis.
Applications can be made by letter, by visiting the German Advice Centre or by getting a referral from a social worker or other welfare agency or charity. You must show proof of your income and expenditure.
Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American nationals living in the UK, who are in distress, can apply for financial assistance from the Society.
The Society does not accept applications made directly by individuals. Applications must be submitted by a social worker, citizens advice bureau or another welfare agency. Details of the applicant's nationality, current situation, amount requested and how the grants will be used, must be included in the application.

Dutch nationals, their surviving widow(er)s or children with at least one parent of Dutch nationality can apply for financial help from the Society.
Contact the Society for an application form or fill in the on-line enquiry form on the website www.koningwillemfonds.org.uk. Applications must be submitted either by the individual or by somebody acting on their behalf. The applicant will be asked to include details of their financial situation and other information about themselves. A passport check is part of the procedure.
The Fund is for ex-servicemen of the Polish Air Force who fought during World War Two under British command, its members who have settled in the west, and their widows, who are in need.
Applications can be submitted either directly by the applicant or via a welfare officer from the Association. An RAF service number is required as proof of service with the Polish Air Force.
People living in the UK and Ireland who were residents of Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia), and their dependants who are in need can apply for financial assistance which is normally paid to the service provider.
Application forms are available from the Fund and applicants can apply directly or through another charity or close relative. You must provide details of your full financial and social circumstances, including your reasons for applying.
