People with cancer or rheumatism who are in need may be eligible for a grant.
Monthly and one-off grants up to £100 are given for any kind of need, including settling rent arrears, nursing home fees where there is a shortfall, and necessities.
No grants are given towards holidays.
Applications can be submitted throughout the year by a social worker, citizens advice or other welfare agency on behalf of the individual. Details of income and circumstances should be provided.
