Who Can Apply?

Birmingham Jewish Community Care supports Jewish people in need living in the West Midlands and surrounding areas.

Types of Grant

It provides one-off grants of between £10 and £250. Grants can be used for school clothing, music lessons for a gifted child, holidays for disadvantaged children, travel expenses for visiting distant cemeteries and occasionaly to provide lifeline telephones and cover monitoring charges where there is no family support.

Exclusions

The charity does not provide grants for setting up businesses.

How Can I Apply?

Applications can be made in writing to the charity, including length of residence in area, other applications made and whether or not the applicant is in receipt of income support or support from other charities. Applications may be submitted directly by the individual or through a social worker, citizens advice or other welfare agency or third party such as a rabbi. No grant is ever made without personal contact with a social worker.
