Accessibility

Turn2us is committed to making sure that this website is accessible to everyone.

We have developed our website following web standards and accessibility guidelines.

Text size

The text size is set in a way that makes it resizable in any browser, should you find it too small to read comfortably.

Headings

Headings are used on each page on the website. They make it easier to read pages by providing visual structure and help people using screen readers and other assistive technologies navigate the site.

Links

Whenever possible, links have been written to make sense when accessed out of the original context. This helps visitors who may use a list of links to move around the site.

Content

The content of the site has been written to be readable by as many people as possible. We have tried to use plain language that is jargon-free and easily understandable.

Site accreditation

Shaw Trust - Ability at workAt present the website conforms to the published standards of the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C's) Web Accessibility Content Guidelines (WCAG) to level A.

We understand the importance of ensuring this site is accessible to all our visitors.  To achieve this we have commissioned Shaw Trust (opens in a new window) to undertake an Accessibility Audit in November 2008.

This audit will include pan-disability user testing, to help us achieve our target of level AA conformance.

BBC My Web My Way

If you need help in making the web easier to use, including the Turn2us website, we recommend the BBC's My Web My Way (opens in a new window) as a starting point. It provides jargon-free information on how you can change your web browser, computer, keyboard and mouse settings to make the web more accessible for you.
