Eligibility

People under the age of 25 who live or work within the town of Brecon.

Type of grants

Help towards the cost of education, training, apprenticeship or equipment for those starting work and grants tenable at any Brecon town secondary school, training college for teachers, university or other institution of further education approved by the trustees. Grants range from £50 to £300.

On a form available from the correspondent giving details of the college/course/apprenticeship and the anticipated cost, together with details of any other grants received or applied for. Ladies over 55 who are in need and are not of the Roman Catholic faith or members of the Salvation Army. Preference is given to women from the counties of Yorkshire and Devon and in particular the towns of Scarborough and Torquay.

After meeting the needs of St Clement Danes Primary School, grants are awarded to, in order of priority: (i) ex-pupils of St Clement Danes Church of England Primary School. (ii) people who are under 25 years of age and have lived within the dioces

After meeting the needs of St Clement Danes Primary School, grants are awarded to, in order of priority: (i) ex-pupils of St Clement Danes Church of England Primary School; and (ii) people who are under 25 years of age and have lived within the diocese of London, with preference for the City of Westminster, for the majority of their education.

Exclusions

Grants towards fees are not usually given to pupils in primary and secondary education. No grants to overseas students.

Type of grants

Grants to assist with the costs of books, materials, travel, uniform and associated costs for study at college or university.

Applications

On a form available from the correspondent. Applications can be submitted directly by the individual, or by a parent/guardian if the individual is under 18, for consideration in February, May, October or November. They need to be submitted six weeks before the committee meeting.
