Type of grants

One-off and recurrent grants to schoolchildren and students for a wide range of educational purposes, including the costs of school clothing, educational outings, books, school fees and study/travel abroad or student exchange. People starting work may also receive help towards equipment/instruments. Grants range from £100 to £400.

Application forms are available by writing to the correspondent, they are usually considered in February, July and November.

Type of grants

Grants to assist people active in the fields of arts, music and physical recreation. Support can be given for uniforms/clothing, fees, books, equipment, instruments and awards for excellence. Applicants should be of amateur status and support may only be given to those who are able to identify specific 'Centres of Excellence' which they will be attending. Grants usually range from £50 to £250 and are one-off.

Applications

Application forms are available from the correspondent and can be submitted directly by the individual. Full details of the activity and references must be included on the form. The trust advises applicants to apply early (preferably before February each year) in time for the trustees' meeting, usually held in April.

Pensions of £500 per annum. One-off grants ranging from £100 to £500.

In writing to the correspondent, submitted directly by the individual, through a third party such as a social worker or through an organisation such as a Citizens Advice or other welfare agency. Applications are considered throughout the year and should contain details of the individual's annual income and capital, detail of need, age and occupation.
