Eligibility

Pharmacists, former pharmacists and their dependants can apply to the Charity for help in times of financial need.

Exclusions

The Charity is not able to support people who live in Northern Ireland.

Type of grants

Health and wellbeing grants, one-off and regular grants as well as student hardship grants may be available to help pay for essential living expenses such as utility bills and household items.

Applications

Applications should be made via a form which is available for download from the website at www.pharmacistsupport.org. Alternatively you can contact a member of the support team on 0808 168 2233 and a form will be mailed out to you. Completed forms can be submitted either by the individual or by a third party.

The assistance of distressed British actors and actresses who have professionally practised or contributed to the theatrical arts (on stage radio or television) and their spouses and children.

Type of grants

The Foundation has made grants for wheelchairs, for hospital treatment, residential care, surgeons fees, medication and a variety of short term help to a large number of those seeking assistance.

Applications

 An applicant's request for a grant, (usually with letters in support) is assessed on its merit in light of the objects of the Foundation.

Other information

A majority of the Trustees is required for approval of every application.

South East Water's Helping Hand

South East Water offers grants to clear water and sewerage debts owed to South East Water on a 'provisional' basis.

Eligibility

Only current domestic customers of South East Water can apply for a grant from South East Water's Helping Hand scheme. Grant are available to clear water or sewerage debts owed to South East Water.

or by calling the application request line on: 01733 421060.

A local money advice centre such as a Citizens Advice Bureau may be able to help in completing the form.

Other information

Those in receipt of an award from the Scheme cannot reapply to the Scheme again. Applicants who do not receive an award can apply again after 6 months.

If you have previously received a grant from the EOS Foundation to clear a debt owed to South East Water you cannot apply to the Helping Hand scheme.

Recourse

Recourse assists those who work, and those who have worked, in adult, further or higher education and their dependants.

Eligibility

We provide financial assistance, coaching, advice and counselling to anyone working in adult, further or higher education and their dependants.  For grants you must have less than £6,000 savings and may be referred to a money advisor before a grant is awarded. Applicants must work/ have worked in Further or Higher Education for at least 2 days a week and for at least one term to qualify.

Exclusions

Student teachers are not eligible for financial support. No grants are given for private school fees, educational course fees, school trips, unsecured debts, house purchases or private medical treatment. Student loans are not made. Applicants must have less than £6,000 in savings

 

Type of grants

One-off grants are given towards a range of needs, including low income, illness and injury. Grants are also given for special needs equipment, care home grants, clothing, white goods, household furniture, removal costs and household repairs.

Red House Youth Projects Trust

Young people between the ages of 10 and 21 who are resident in Norfolk.

Eligibility

People under 21 who are resident in Norfolk.

Exclusions

No grants for trips abroad or core costs.

Type of grants

Grants of up to £750 for young people to follow personal ambitions, undertake arts/citizenship projects.

Grants are also available to support the training of adults in charity and voluntary organisations. These would be for up to 50% of costs to a maximum of £2,500.

Applications

On forms available from the website. Trustees or staff are willing to help individuals complete forms. Grants are considered four times a year in March, June, September and December.

Grants are also made to organisations.

Scottish Hydro Electric Community Trust

People living in the Scottish Hydro Electric supply area. Grants can be given for domestic properties and properties used for not-for-profit community projects. Domestic properties must be the sole residence of the applicant.

Exclusions

Applications for holiday homes or second homes will not be considered.

Type of grants

Grants are given towards the costs of domestic electricity connections. Grants are awarded at the trustees’ discretion and range from a few hundred pounds to a few thousand, however the usual level is 30% of the connection cost.

Grants are also given to community ventures for electricity connections.

Provides welfare grants for children and adults who have cerebral palsy and live in Shropshire or Telford and Wrekin.

Eligibility

Children and adults who have cerebral palsy and live in Shropshire or Telford and Wrekin.

Exclusions

The Society does not fund:

  • Debts
  • Healthcare or other therapeutic equipment where the local authority or primary care trust should be funding.
Type of grants

Grants are given for:

  • Mobility equipment
  • Therapeutic equipment, e.g. seating
  • Holidays
  • Transport
  • White goods
  • House adaptations
  • Furniture, carpets etc
  • Ongoing therapy costs.
Applications

Applications should be received in aletter submitted by the individual or a third party (e.g. occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker).

For grants over £250, a supporting letter from an occupational therapist, physiotherapist or social worker needed.

Applications are considered monthly.
