We would like to wish everyone who uses Turn2us services all the very best for Christmas and New Year.

Offices and helpline closure

The Turn2us offices and helpline will be closed from end of business on Friday 22 December 2017 until start of business on Tuesday 2 January 2018.

Our website will be available over the holiday season for you to carry out benefits calculations and grants searches. We will respond to emails or other communications sent to us once we return to work in the New Year.

Direct grants – Elizabeth Finn Fund, Edinburgh Trust and Response Fund

Please be advised that, due to a large number of applications and the Christmas and New Year closure, we will not be taking any applications for the Turn2us direct grant funds from 4 pm on 20 December 2017 until we return after the New Year on 2 January 2018. The application forms are currently disabled and will be put back on our website and Grants Search on 2 January 2017. If you are in the middle of an application (e.g. have been asked to fill in stage 2 of an Elizabeth Finn Fund application form, you will be able to do this on 2 January.)

Applications that we have received in December may not be addressed until after the Christmas break.

Applications that we receive in January may take some time to process.

Sources of information and help

The following organisations may also be able to provide support, depending on your situation and circumstances.

The Cruse Bereavement Care helpline will be open over Christmas to help anyone who has had a bereavement and needs emotional support.

If you are worried about debt, see our Debt information page for details of debt advice services that can advise you further.

Emergency help including food banks

Your local council will be able to advise you further on local sources of emergency help including foodbanks. Although the offices may be closed, there should be someone on duty to give you information about the services that are available in your area over Christmas and New Year and how to access them

The Turn2us Emergency Assistance guide provides information on what may be available generally in an emergency in terms of benefits, foodbanks and other sources of help.
