What is Coronavirus Self Isolation Payment?

The Coronavirus Self Isolation Payment is a payment for people who work and are on a low income who have to self isolate because of coronavirus.


It launched in England on 28 September 2020 and is run by local councils. It ended 24 February 2022.


Scotland's scheme launched on 12 October 2020. It is run by local councils.


Wales launched its scheme on 12 November 2020 and amended it from 7 August 2021.

Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland's scheme is a little different, as the amount awarded varies depending on who is in the household, and it does not rely on you receiving benefits.
