What is Coronavirus Self Isolation Payment?

The Coronavirus Self Isolation Payment is a £500 payment for people who work and are in receipt of certain benefits who have to self isolate because of coronavirus.


It will launch in England on 28 September 2020 and is administered by local authorities.


Scotland's scheme launched 12 October 2020 and allows claims to be backdated to 28 September. It is administered by local authorities.


Wales is bringing in a similar scheme but has not yet announced a launch date or details of the scheme. 

Northern Ireland

We don't yet know whether Northern Ireland will launch a similar scheme.
