The filter by Occupation page allows you to select the current and/or previous employment history of the person seeking help (and their partner/ex partner, spouse/ex-spouse where relevant; or parents/guardians if looking for help for a dependent child).

You do this by clicking the relevant category (categories) on the left. Then click 'Confirm'.

Choosing more than one occupation

Many people have had more than one occupation. You can choose more than one occupation from the occupation filter. Click one occupation in the left hand side and then find the next occupation.  When you have finished, click 'Confirm', you will see the selections under occupation on the left hand side of the results page.

Final results from filters

When you have applied all your filters, you should have a results page that looks a bit like this (above), i.e. displaying the filters you have applied on the left hand side and giving you a list of possible charitable funds on the right hand side.

If you can't find a term that fits you on the filters

If you can't find the occupation, health or other term to fit your situation, circumstances and background in the filters:

See if there is a term in the filters that is a broader category - e.g. if you are an 'auditor', use 'accountant'; if you have 'leukaemia', use 'cancer'; if you are a 'car mechanic', use 'motoring industry'

You could also use the keyword search of the Turn2us Grants Search.

Partners/ex-partners/parents/guardians

Many funds also help the dependents of people their fund supports – e.g. their partners, ex-partners or children.

Make sure you search on details for the person needing help's partner/spouse/ex-partner/ex-spouse, where relevant, as well as those related to the individual.

If you are searching for help for a dependant child, search on the parents'/guardians' details as well as those related to the child.
