Swim Serpentine is back after an incredibly successful inaugural event in 2016. This new open water swimming event takes place in the heart of London in the Serpentine in Hyde Park, the stunning venue for the London 2012 Olympic open water swimming competition.
Organised by the team behind the London Marathon, in 2016 over 4,000 swimmers took part in the first mass participation swim event over a mile-long course. For 2017 there will also be a longer two mile course as well as shorter distances available. Waves of swimmers will set off at regular intervals throughout the day. Entrants must wear a wetsuit or a tow-float to take part - you will be able to hire these on the day if necessary. To find out more about this exciting event, visit the Swim Serpentine website.
Turn2us has a limited number of charity places in Swim Serpentine. You can secure one now providing you are happy to raise £200 in sponsorship to help people in poverty. All you need to do is complete our online application form and we’ll be in touch by return. If you accept one of our guaranteed places, you will need to pay a £28 registration fee.
Alternatively, you could apply for your own Swim Serpentine place. Entry is through a ballot which is now open. Once you have your own place, please tell us. There's no fundraising target for own place swimmers and we'd love to have you on board. We will support you to raise as much sponsorship as you can to help people in poverty and we’ll be there on the day to cheer you on.
