The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) was the UK government department responsible for ensuring that the UK has secure, clean, affordable energy supplies and promote international action to reduce climate change.

It was closed by the Prime Minister Theresa May on 14 June 2016. Energy issues will now be covered by a new department called the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
