Turn2us Coronavirus appeal - Your support is providing a lifeline

The unprecedented pace and scale of Coronavirus is taking lives and destroying livelihoods.

The unprecedented pace and scale of Coronavirus is taking lives and destroying livelihoods. Through the generosity of so many people, Turn2us has been able to act quickly to provide immediate support to households facing a financial crisis, and prioritise projects that will support people to face the uncertain future. As a result of your support we have so far;

  • Distributed over £1m via a new Covid-19 crisis cash grant fund direct to over 5,000 people in over 2300 households
  • Extended opening hours of our free helpline – to provide additional 1 to 1 support for people to understand support available from welfare benefits and charitable grants, handling hundreds of extra calls each week.
  • Increased capacity for our Benefits Calculator and Grant Search Tools – to cope with a 500% rise in demand from people whose incomes have been affected by Coronavirus, and to make sure our tools are up to date with the latest accurate information.

However, we know that the financial impact of Coronavirus upon people continues to grow, so our Appeal continues, so that we can maintain our support for people now and as our response evolves

Thank you to everyone that is supporting us

If we raise more funds than are needed for this appeal, or if the needs of people change as a result of the crisis, we will apply any money raised to where the needs are greatest within our purpose to tackle poverty in the UK.
