Intermediaries workshops

Register for one of our regional workshops or contact us to discuss setting up an in-house workshop for your staff.

Turn2us runs workshops across the UK to help front-line workers and volunteers (‘intermediaries’) use Turn2us’ tools and services to support people in financial need.

Can I arrange an in-house workshop?

Turn2us can also arrange in-house workshops to meet the training needs of your organisation on a date and at a venue to suit you. If you would like to discuss whether an in-house Turn2us workshop would be suitable, please contact: Turn2us Training Co-ordinator, at email: training@turn2us.org.uk or telephone: 020 8834 9217.

Who should attend?

Staff and volunteers offering front line advice, support or information to individuals in financial need. The workshops are designed for people who are not benefit experts but want to know where to find the latest information and updates on welfare benefits and grants.

Is there a cost?

There is no charge for charities working with individuals in financial hardship to attend the workshops. Local authorities and housing associations are eligible for a limited number of free places and along with private organisations should contact our commercial team to discuss partnership working.

What will I learn in the workshop?

  • How to use the Intermediaries Benefits Calculator and Grants Search database.
  • How to access other resources including Find an Adviser, information on beneftis and charitable grants.
  • The features and benefits of a MyTurn2us account features, which enable intermediaries to apply directly to grant-giving charities online and to save benefit calculations.
  • Where to find the latest information on benefit changes including the roll out of universal credit, localised council tax support and housing benefit.
  • And there will also be lots of opportunities for questions, answers and sharing of ideas throughout!

Will I need to do any pre-course preparation?

Attendees may register for a Turn2us intermediary account beforehand, however, a temporary account will be available to use in the workshop. You should look at the benefits calculator, grants search and the information and resources section of our website, and read through the information checklist which will be used with the benefits calculator.
