We’re looking for a Edinburgh Trust Caseworker who does.

One in five people among us, over 14 million in total across the UK, are unable to thrive because of a lack of money.

Turn2us exists to help people struggling to make ends meet.

We do this by:

  • Giving direct financial help through our own charitable grants

  • Supporting people to increase their income through benefits, grants and other support

  • Highlighting ways to reduce essential costs.

The Edinburgh Trust Caseworker role

The Edinburgh Trust supports people by providing one-off grants to individuals and families who are in financial need.

We require a caseworker to join us on a fixed-term contract in our Edinburgh Office. This role will be a demanding one but will be equally matched by job satisfaction in the knowledge that it is helping people who live in Edinburgh.

Reporting to the Edinburgh Trust Manager, you will provide confidential and efficient casework services and administrative support.

This position is office-based and includes:

  • Working with partners from a range of charities in the city
  • Undertaking grant assessments for their applicants
  • Working directly with those we have assisted.

We welcome applicants with experience of grant assessments and administration.

You must:

  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills

  • Have good administrative/financial experience

  • Be IT literate

  • Have a good understanding of the welfare benefits system

  • Have an empathy with vulnerable people.

We need a team player who is sympathetic to charity work (particularly to the aims of Turn2us) and to the needs of our beneficiaries.

This is a part-time position for 16 hours per week worked over three days, working alongside our part-time caseworker who works 21 hours over three days. Days and hours to be agreed with successful candidate.
