About Turn2us

One in five people among us, over 14 million in total across the UK, are unable to thrive because of a lack of money. Turn2us exists to help people struggling to make ends meet.

We do this by giving direct financial help through our own charitable grants; supporting people to increase their income through benefits, grants and other support; and by highlighting ways to reduce essential costs.

About the role

Unexpected illness, job loss or relationship breakdown can turn any of our lives upside down, leading to loss of income, loss of housing, and financial crisis for any of us and our families. More than 22% of us are currently in poverty, including a shameful 33% of all children.

But financial crisis are all too often a symptom of many other complex challenges faced by people who need our services.  That's why Turn2us, a national charity helping people when times get tough, is looking for a Referral Programmes Officer. We want to build a network of relationships between ourselves and other groups and organisations delivering concrete, impactful help and support complementary to our core expertise.

Turn2us help people maximise their income through benefits, charitable grants and other support and signpost people on to other help and support through our telephone and webchat helpline, benefits calculator, online grant search, our own grant giving programmes, information signposting and other programmes supporting people in financial crisis. We believe that no-one in the UK should live in poverty - we hope you feel the same.

The postholder will report to the Head of Information and Helpline.

We welcome applicants who have experience working in a volunteer led organisation and who can demonstrate strong planning and administration skills and the capacity to deliver services and build relationships across digital platforms as well as face to face.

Please read the Referral Programmes Officerjob description and person specification
