We launched this Winter’s No Cold Homes fuel poverty campaign by meeting with representatives from a number of energy companies and consumer organisations to discuss how economically vulnerable people can get better access to practical help with their fuel bills.
Following on from that, and to raise awareness of the help that is available for those who are struggling with their energy bills, we have launched a social media campaign. We have created a secondary hashtag to #NoColdHomes on social media, which is #ShowUsYourWoolly.
The idea is to highlight how cold it is at this time of the year by asking people to take a selfie wearing woolly Winter clothes such as a hat, scarf or jumper, and to share it on social media - tagging Turn2us and with the hashtags #NoColdHomes and #ShowUsYourWoolly.
People can also share a link to information about help with energy bills - www.turn2us.org.uk/About-Us/Our-Campaigns/No-Cold-Homes - and encourage donations to the charity by texting COLD04 £4 to 70070.
