As promised in the Chancellor's Summer Budget yesterday, the Government has published the Welfare Reform and Work Bill.

As promised in the Chancellor's Summer Budget announced yesterday, the Government have published the Welfare Reform and Work Bill.

The purpose of the bill is to make provision about:

  • Reports on progress towards full employment and the apprenticeships target

  • Provision about reports on the effect of certain support for troubled families

  • Social mobility

  • The benefit cap

  • Social security and tax credits

  • Loans for mortgage interest

  • Social housing rents.
