Brian worked for the Ministry of Defence for most of his life and always assumed that his Civil Service Pension would keep him comfortable in retirement. But the increased cost of living and other pressures mean that Brian was starting to struggle. Brian was eventually forced to declare himself bankrupt, with the money from his pension now going directly to creditors.
It was not an easy journey and Brian found the process of applying for support complicated and confusing.
