About this role

During the coronavirus pandemic, amid a surge in demand for support from people who have been rocked by the financial impact on their livelihood, Turn2us has responded with compassion and agility. Thanks to our supporters, we’ve been able to offer over £4m in direct grants to households struggling to afford basic essentials. We’ve increased resource to our telephone helpline for people with additional needs and we’ve ensured our digital resources, including our welfare Benefits Calculator and Grant Search tools, used by millions since March 2020, reflect the latest support available to people.

We want to go further. Our drive to continuously improve our services and target them to the people and places where need exists, is dependent on securing sustainable funding for new and existing programmes at Turn2us and in partnership with other organisations.

As Corporate Partnerships Officer, you will support with existing partnerships with businesses in order to: generate income to fund our work from company Corporate Social Responsibility activity, staff fundraising activity, marketing and campaigning; increase the reach and impact of our powerful digital tools; support improvement in how businesses support their customers in vulnerable circumstances; support with co-creating initiatives that target help to communities across the UK.

You will largely focus on our recently formed exciting partnership with Royal London, the UK’s largest mutual insurer. This, our first strategic partnership, exists to help more people prevent a life shock from becoming a crisis. You will play a significant role in driving this, strategic, multi year relationship to reach its potential by engaging stakeholders across both organisations and delivering on key activity. We have ambitious goals for this partnership, and are hoping to deliver a sector leading collaboration, combining the forces of two organisations to have a transformative impact. As such, this role is a great development opportunity for someone looking to lead these kinds of collaborations in the future.

You will play a core role in the pursuit of our purpose for people struggling to get by. You’ll also be joining at an exciting time in the charity’s evolution. We have refined our purpose, strategy and structure in the past twelve months. We are co-producing our work with people who have lived experience of financial hardship, so that their unique insight and voices drive change in policy and practice.

With a proven track record of driving corporate partnership you will use your strong communication and superb networking skills to develop our relationship with Royal London. You’ll work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and business partners to build and deliver partnerships that make a real difference. Your understanding of businesses, ability to influence people at a senior level and intellectual curiosity will allow you to spot opportunities for to help drive partnership working at Turn2us.

Critically, your personal values, drive and ambition to contribute to achieving impact for people without enough income to thrive, particularly in the context of Covid-19, will stand out in this key role.
