GroceryAid’s emotional, practical and financial services are FREE and available to anyone working in the grocery industry, from the first day of their employment. From factory colleagues and lorry drivers, through to shop floors and head offices, the confidential support is available 24/7, 365 days a year and can support more than 200 different languages.
On the 26th April, the annual GroceryAid Day returns and GroceryAid is asking for help in raising awareness of the charity and its FREE services to all colleagues working in the grocery and industry. This year's theme is Let's Talk GroceryAid, and the goal is to tell as many colleagues as possible about how the charity can support them.
Why get involved?
Talking to a colleague about GroceryAid can be life-changing for an individual. Last year 54% of colleagues received support because of word of mouth and employer referrals.
GroceryAid has already experienced a 93% rise in applications for financial support and a 47% increase in calls to the free and confidential 24/7 Helpline since this time last year.
How do I get involved?
Retailers can download GroceryAid’s FREE and easy-to-use communication toolkit which is designed to celebrate this year's theme, #LetsTalkGroceryAid. Retailers can use printed materials, digital content and videos from the toolkit to reach every part of their organisation.

Sunita's story
Helping to raise awareness of GroceryAid Day means that people like Sunita can receive the support they need.
When independent retailer Sunita lost her husband to Covid, she turned to GroceryAid’s 24/7 Helpline for support. Overnight, Sunita had become a widow, plus the owner and director of multiple businesses. This put a lot of emotional stress and pressure on her.
In the video (link below), Sunita explains in her own words how GroceryAid provided additional emotional support and counselling when she needed it.
