From 22 June, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) will be extended to some existing Disability Living Allowance (DLA) claimants in London and other parts of Southern England, who have the following postcodes:

How it works

Since 28 October 2013, assessment for Personal Independence Payment has been carried out in a gradually increasing number of areas but only for some existing Disability Living Allowanceclaimants.

  • You will have to claim Personal Independence Payment if you live in a reassessment area and:you have a fixed-term award of Disability Living Allowance which is due to expire, or
  • You notify the Disability and Carers Service that there has been a change in your care or mobility needs, or
  • You turn 16.

If you have an indefinite Disability Living Allowance award

If you have an indefinite award of Disability Living Allowance and there is no change in your circumstances you will not be contacted before October 2015.
