Lucy Bannister, Turn2us head of policy and influencing said:
"Today the government has turned the tide on child poverty, and every single one of us will benefit. Axeing the two-child limit is the single most effective step to reducing child poverty, and the government has taken the right decision to remove it. We urge the government to also scrap the benefit cap, to ensure no children are left behind.
"This strategy will mean hundreds of thousands more children will have what they need to grow and realise their potential. It is an investment in all of us, our country, and its future prosperity.
"We welcome measures to better support working parents on Universal Credit, particularly with childcare.
"However, genuine employment support that treats people with dignity and respect will be critical to supporting more parents in good jobs. An adequate social security system - that protects us from going without the essentials and always treats us with respect - is a critical part of a functioning society and economy."
