Turn2us PIP Helper course - Introduction

About us

Turn2us is a national charity offering practical information and support to people facing financial insecurity. Our vision is that everyone in the UK has financial security so that they can thrive.

What do we do?

We work alongside people who know what it's like not to have enough money to live on. Together we develop tools, grants, information  and services.

Financial security goes beyond survival. We help people prepare for and cope with financial shocks and we challenge the systems and perceptions that cause financial insecurity and allow it to continue.

What will you learn?

By completing this course, you will learn how to use the Turn2us PIP (Personal Independence Payment) Helper to support your clients and members of your community who might be facing financial insecurity.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Describe what PIP is.
  • Login to the Turn2us PIP Helper as an adviser and access the features available to advisers.
  • Use the Turn2us PIP Helper when working with clients.
  • Describe how your clients can use the Turn2us PIP Helper independently.
  • List how information in the Turn2us PIP Helper is laid out and where to find key sections.

Points to know

This course is designed to teach you to use the Turn2us PIP Helper with clients. It will not enable you to give advice on PIP without using the tool.

The course does not cover challenging PIP decisions, and the Turn2us PIP Helper only gives simple information on what to expect when challenging a PIP decision.

The Turn2us PIP Helper does not cover Scotland, where PIP has been replaced by Adult Disability Payment (ADP). It does cover Northern Ireland.

Turn2us does not provide in-depth PIP adviser training. If you'd like to upskill on PIP, visit Rightsnet which regularly advertises training on PIP and other benefits.
