All the training was worth it on the day to fundraise for such a good cause, championing financial security and delivering real change. Thank you Turn2us!
Earlier this year, Harriet and I couldn’t run for more than 60 seconds without stopping. After Couch to 5K and a few parkruns, we wanted a bigger challenge, and the Hackney Half felt perfect. We both lived in Hackney for years, though back then we were much more likely to be partying there than running 13 miles through it! Finishing the race on our old home turf was hugely rewarding. It felt like a privilege to take on a challenge we had chosen, while raising money for people facing challenges outside their control. Knowing we were supporting Turn2us and people facing financial uncertainty really kept us going, even through the cramp, blisters and tired lungs.
Taking on the Hackney Half Marathon was about more than just running; it was a chance to turn my miles into meaningful support for charity. This was the hardest thing I've ever done, but it taught me that when I commit to something wholeheartedly, there are no limits to what I can achieve!
