What are Carer's Credits?

Carer's Credits are a way for people who look after someone to keep up their National Insurance record, even if they can't work because of their caring role. Normally, you build up your National Insurance contributions by working and paying them through your wages. 

Carer's Credits can help you qualify for things like the State Pension.

Applies to: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales

Age rules: You must be 16 or over but under state pension age
