How do I claim a Child Winter Heating Payment?
Most people do not need to make a claim for a Child Winter Heating Payment.
It is usually paid automatically in October to children and young people receiving eligible benefits during the qualifying week.
You need to make a claim if you live outside of Scotland.
Making a claim by phone
You can request a Child Winter Heating Payment over the phone, by calling Social Security Scotland and requesting a call back:
