How do I claim a Young Carer Grant - Scotland?
If you have a bank account, you can claim a Young Carer Grant online.
If you don’t have a bank account, you will need to make your claim over the phone by calling Social Security Scotland:
- Telephone: 0800 182 2222
- British Sign Language (BSL) users: Contact Scotland app
The helpline is open Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm.
You can also apply by downloading and completing a paper form.
What documents do I need to provide?
You will need to provide evidence of your identity and evidence that you live in Scotland. You can find out more about the kind of things you can use to show this on the MYGOV.SCOT - Young Carer Grant webpage.
Do I have to apply every year?
You'll need to fill in a new form or call Social Security Scotland each year you want to apply.
