The Scottish Government is providing extra support to anyone in Scotland who was getting Council Tax Support/Reduction in April 2021.
Local councils in Scotland will be making one-off Low Income Pandemic Payments of £130 to households who were getting Council Tax Support/ Reduction in April 2021.
Payments are due to go out before the end of October 2021.
Check whether you could have claimed Council Tax Support/Reduction
Council Tax Support/Reduction can be backdated.
If you weren’t getting this benefit in April 2021, you could use our Benefits Calculator to check whether you would have been entitled to it then. If you were, you will need to claim Council Tax Support/Reduction from your local Scottish council and ask for the claim to be backdated. Different councils may have different rules on how long they will backdate a claim for.
