Write your will for free

We’ve partnered with Make a Will Online and the National Free Wills Network so you can write or update a simple will or mirror wills at no cost to you. 

You can create it online through Make a Will Online where every will is professionally checked by a solicitor, giving you peace of mind. 

Or if you’d prefer to speak to a solicitor directly simply email us at legacy@turn2us.org.uk or call 020 8834 9200 (pressing option 5) to request a referral via the National Free Wills Network. Information on participating solicitors closest to you will then be sent to you. 

There’s no obligation to leave a gift to Turn2us but even 1% of your estate could make a huge difference for future generations to come. 

When to speak to a solicitor 

The free wills offer is limited to simple wills and a limited number are offered per year. The wills are free to you and paid for by Turn2us at a discretionary rate. If you have a high value or more complex estate you should speak to a solicitor directly.

You can use the Solicitors Regulation Authority website to find one. Where there is a worry due to medication or a dementia-related illness we always suggest speaking with a solicitor face to face 

How to leave a gift in your will

Leaving a gift is simple: 

1. Request and read our guide to learn more about writing or updating your will. 
2. Speak to a solicitor or will-writer, or use one of our free will writing services.
3. Let us know your intentions. Sharing your decision means we can thank you, plan for the future, and keep you updated but your pledge is always confidential and not legally binding. Contact us at legacy@turn2us.org.uk.

If you are already working with a solicitor to write your will and wish to leave a gift to Turn2us, this is the information they will need.

Registered charity number: 207812 in England and Wales, SC040987 in Scotland  

An example of wording you could use is:

I leave (insert amount or specific item) / X share (s) of my residuary estate for Elizabeth Finn Care, also known as Turn2us, 33-39 Bowling Green Lane, London, EC1R 0BJ, registered charity number 207812 in England and Wales/SC040987 in Scotland, absolutely for its general charitable purposes and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors.   

All this information has been put in a downloadable document for you to easily send or give to your solicitor. 

Information for executors 

If you are looking to make a payment from a will please contact our legacy team on legacy@turn2us.org.uk with the following details: 

• The full name of the deceased 
• Their last address – this will also allow us to prevent any future mailings to their home, as we know this can be distressing at a difficult time 
• Their date of death 
• The will clause where our legacy is mentioned 
• Your name and address 
• The amount of the gift and the approximate date of payment 

After we receive this information, we will then contact you to provide our bank details and check whether you would like to receive a thank you letter by email or post. If any other information about the estate is needed by our charity’s auditors, we will let you know at that time.
