How do I claim a Funeral Support Payment Scotland?
You have to claim a Funeral Support Payment within six months after the funeral. You can’t claim before the person has died.
You can apply online, by making an application on the MYGOV.SCOT website.
You can make a claim over the phone, by calling Social Security Scotland for free:

- British Sign Language (BSL) users: Contact Scotland app
The helpline is open Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm.
You can download a Funeral Support Payment form online, complete it and send it by post to:
- Social Security Scotland
- PO Box 10311
- DUNDEE
- DD1 9GH
There is a form for adults, and a different one for a person aged 17 or younger.
The Funeral Support Payment can be paid either to you or to the funeral director.
