How much Armed Forces Independence Payment will I get?

Armed Forces Independence Payment is paid at a rate of £141.10 per week. This is the same as the enhanced rate of the Personal Independence Payment components and the highest rate of the Disability Living Allowance components.

How will I be paid a Armed Forces Independence Payment?

An Armed Forces Independence Payment will be paid directly into your bank, building society or Post Office account or by Simple Payment if you are unable to open or manage one of these or a similar account.

It will be paid in arrears, on a four weekly basis.

The payment will carry on for as long as you are entitled to the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) Guaranteed Income Payment (GIP).

Armed Forces Independence Payment and other benefits

Armed Forces Independence Payment is not counted as income when calculating your entitlement to means-tested benefits.

Armed Forces Independence Payment and the Benefit Cap

Your household will be exempt from the Benefit Cap if you, your partner or a qualifying young person in your household are entitled to an Armed Forces Independence Payment.
