Most people can use the Turn2us Benefits Calculator, but there are a few exceptions. Find out if you can use it, and where to turn to if it can't calculate your entitlement.

Although most people living in the UK can use our Benefits Calculator, it does not work out entitlement to benefits for the following groups of people because special rules apply and the estimates may not be correct.
If you fall into one of these groups, you can use the Turn2us Find an Adviser tool to find someone locally who can advise you on your particular circumstances.
Students
If you are a student see our Studying (aged 16+) section for more information about benefit entitlement.
People aged under 18
If you are single and aged 16-17, or are in a couple where both of you are aged 16-17, see our Young Person (aged 16-17) section for more information about benefit entitlement.
If you are under 18 but your partner is older than 18, then you can use the Benefits Calculator to check entitlement to:
You will need to enter that the younger partner is aged 18. The result may not be accurate for other benefits where different rates may apply if you have a partner aged under 18.
People who are permanently in residential care, a nursing home or hospital

Prisoners

People who are not British or Irish citizens
If you or your partner are not a British or Irish citizen the first question of the Benefits Calculator will confirm your nationality or immigration status and advise you on whether you will need specialist advice.
Republic of Ireland and other areas
Citizens of the Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands are not able to use the Benefits Calculator as the benefits system in these territories is different to the UK system.
