Last reviewed 16 June 2025

How much Scottish Adult DLA will I get?

You will continue to get the same amount of Scottish Adult DLA, as you did on DLA from the DWP. There will also be no gap in your payments.

There are two parts called components: the care component and the mobility component. You may qualify for one of both of these.

Care component

This is paid at one of three different weekly rates depending on your care needs:

  • Highest rate £110.40
  • Middle rate £73.90
  • Lowest rate £29.20

Mobility component

This is paid at one of two different weekly rates, depending on how difficult it is for you to get around:

  • Higher rate £77.05
  • Lower rate £29.20

How will I be paid Scottish Adult DLA?

Scottish Adult DLA will be paid the same way that your DLA for adults is paid.

The DWP will continue to make payments to you until your transfer to Scottish Adult DLA is complete.

Scottish Adult DLA is usually paid every four weeks.

Benefit Cap

If you or your partner receives Scottish Adult DLA, you will be exempt from the Benefit Cap which limits the total amount in some benefits that working-age households can receive.
