What is Scottish Adult DLA?

Scottish Adult DLA is a new benefit in Scotland that replaces Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for adults.

It is money for people who have extra care needs or mobility needs (difficulty getting around) because of a disability.

Scottish Adult DLA is a closed benefit and is not open for new applications.

People in Scotland who currently get Disability Living Allowance (DLA) from the Department for Work and Pensions will have their benefit moved over to a new Scottish version called Scottish Adult DLA, run by Social Security Scotland. Case transfers will happen throughout 2025.
