Pension Age Winter Heating Payment - Can I get other help with fuel as a pensioner?

Warm Home Discount scheme  

Pensioners who get Pension Credit can get £150 off their winter fuel bill through the Warm Home Discount scheme. If you’re eligible, your electricity supplier will apply the discount to your bill.  

The Warm Home Discount Scheme will open for applications in October 2026.  

Pension Credit  

A lot of people are entitled to Pension Credit but are not receiving it. Use our free and confidential Benefits Calculator to check if you could get Pension Credit to access extra help.  

Scottish Welfare Fund

Local councils throughout Scotland have assistance scheme to help households that are struggling. Contact your council to see if they can help.
